António Diogo André concluiu o Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Mecânica (MIEM), especialidade de Projeto e Construção Mecânica, em Fevereiro de 2016 pela Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, com média final de 13 valores. A primeira experiência profissional, Março de 2016 - Maio 2017, foi no departamento de pré-venda e orçamentação da Arfit (empresa de soluções AVAC), tendo se tornado bolseiro de investigação no INEGI (Outubro 2017 - Dezembro 2019) onde estudou o sistema urinário masculino no projecto UROSPHINX e colaborou no projeto MiMBi (Melhoramento Mecânico dos Implantes Mamários). Entrou para o programa doutoral em Engenharia Mecânica (PRODEM) na mesma instituição em Janeiro de 2020. Desde essa altura, foi, por duas vezes, estudante visitante no Imperial College London, em Londres, num total de 12 meses (6 meses em 2022 e 6 meses em 2023). Até ao momento, tem 47 produções, onde se incluem 4 artigos em revistas especializadas, 5 capítulos de livros e vários resumos submetidos em várias conferências nacionais e internacionais decorrentes do plano de trabalhos do seu doutoramento e projetos anteriores. Inclusive, foi distinguido com o prémio de melhor poster na conferência CMBBE 2019, em Nova Iorque. O seu doutoramento tem o título de "Exoskeletons for Aided-Mobility" e baseia-se na aplicação de materiais suaves, em particular o fluoreto de polivinilideno (PVDF), no desenvolvimento de exosqueletos/exofactos para serem usados em situações de reabilitação ou re-educação do movimento humano. No decorrer da sua experiência profissional, tem desenvolvido os seus conhecimentos em várias áreas da engenharia, como programação (Matlab), simulação numérica (FEM, ABAQUS), CAD (Solidworks) e desenho técnico, ensaios mecânicos, materiais poliméricos; além de competências transversais técnicas e sociais, tais como leitura de caderno de encargos e orçamentação e apoio ao cliente. É membro de várias organizações, como Ordem dos Engenheiros (membro efetivo) e membro das Sociedades Portuguesa e Europeia de Biomecânica.
