Nadine Schubert currently works as an Assistant Researcher (FCT) at the CCMAR and has published so far 32 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter. She works in the area(s) of Natural sciences- Biological Sciences with emphasis on Marine Biology and Ecology. She is an expert in ecophysiology of seagrasses, macroalgae, and corals, and her research focuses on the understanding of the importance of benthic habitats in the oceanic carbon cycle and the effects that environmental changes (e.g., climate change, local impacts) have on the performance of benthic organisms and their interactions. Currently, she is working on the relevance of rhodolith bed-associated carbon fluxes and storage in the oceanic carbon cycle and the global and local impacts on these habitats and has established a wide collaboration network through co-authorship in scientific papers and research projects. Additionally, she is currently on the editorial board of Comm. Earth & Environ. (Nature group) and Front. Mar. Sci., and she has peer-reviewed papers for 30 journals (95 reviews in total).
