Gunilla Kallenius graduated in Medicine at the Uppsala University in 1970 and in 1981 obtained her PhD in Bacteriology in 1981 by Karolinska Institutet. Gunilla has more than 40 years of research experience in the field of diagnosis, epidemiology and pathogenesis of TB and coordinated several large collaborative EU projects. Ongoing collaboration in various projects on tuberculosis with researchers at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Mozambique and Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Throughout her career supervised 16 PhD students and published more than 190 publications in peer reviewed journals, mainly in the field of tuberculosis in the last 30 years.
