[PT version] André C. Marta concluiu a Licenciatura em Eng. Mecânica em 1999 pelo Instituto Superior Técnico, tendo depois desempenhado funções de Consultor Sénior na Accenture. Prosseguiu estudos na Universidade de Stanford, onde obteve os graus de Mestre (2005) e Doutor (2007) em Aeronáutica e Astronáutica. Foi Cientista nos Laboratórios de Energias Alternativas e Aerotérmicas na General Electric em Munique até 2010. Regressou ao IST em 2010 como Investigador no Centro de Ciências e Tecnologias Aeronáuticas e Espaciais do IDMEC, sendo atualmente o seu Coordenador-Adjunto, acumulando com a posição de Professor Auxiliar na Área Científica de Mecânica Aplicada e Aeroespacial do Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica desde 2014. Foi responsável pela criação das cadeiras de Conceção Otimizada de Aeronaves (mestrado Eng. Aeroespacial) e Otimização Multisdisciplinar (doutoramento Eng.Aeroespacial e Eng.Computacional), lecionado também Aerodinâmica e Estabilidade de Voo (licenciatura Eng.Aeroespacial). Desde o inicio da sua atividade docente, recebeu anualmente o Prémio de Excelência no Ensino. Publicou 21 artigos em revistas internacionais e 50 artigos em conferências internacionais especializadas. Participou na organização de 14 eventos, donde se destacam a criação da conferência temática de ECCOMAS dedicada a otimização multidisciplinar de sistemas aeroespaciais - AeroBest, com realização bienal desde 2021. Orientou 5 teses de doutoramento e 70 dissertações de mestrado. Foi Investigador Responsável em 9 projetos. Já foi revisor em mais de 22 revistas nas áreas de Aeroespacial e Mecânica. [EN version] André C. Marta completed his Bachelor in Mechanical Eng. in 1999 at Instituto Superior Técnico, having then held a position as Senior Consultant at Accenture. He completed advances studies at Stanford University, where he obtained the MSc degree (2005) and PhD degree (2007) in Aeronautics and Astronautics- He was a Scientist at the Alternative Energy and Aerothermal Laboratories at General Electric in Munich until 2010. He returned to IST in 2010 as Researcher at the Aerospace Science and Technology of IDMEC, presently holding the role of Vice-Coordinator, accumulating with a position of Assistant Professor in the Scientific Area of Applied Mechanics and Aerospace of the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 2014. He was responsible for the creation of the courses in Aircraft Optimal Design (MSc Aerospace Eng.) and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (PhD Aerospace Eng. and Computational Eng.), also lecturing Aerodynamics and Flight Stability (BSc Aerospace Eng.). Since he started his faculty role, he has received the Pedagogical Excellence Diploma every year. He published 21 papers international journals and 50 papers in international conferences. He took part in the organization of 14 events, with highlight for the creation of the ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on multidisciplinary design optimization of aerospace systems - AeroBest, which takes place every two years since 2021.
