Michail Batikas. Completed the PhD in Information Systems in 2011 by Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the Master in Business Administration in 2005 by Athens University of Economics and Business, and the BSc in Computer Science in 2003 by University of Crete. Is Assistant Professor at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, NOVA School of Business and Economics (since 2023). Previously held positions as Assistant Professor at Rennes School of Business (2019–2023), Postdoctoral Researcher at LMU Munich (2016–2019), and Scientific Officer at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in Seville (2012–2015). Published 2 articles in internationally recognized journals: "Regulatory Spillovers and Data Governance: Evidence from the GDPR" in Marketing Science (2022), and "Follow the Money: Online Piracy and Self-Regulation in the Advertising" in the International Journal of Industrial Organization (2019). Has 3 papers under revision at Strategic Management Journal and Information Systems Research (×2). Has 2 book chapters and authored 4 policy reports for the European Commission. Recipient of the Nova SBE Mobility Fellowship (2026), RSB Research Award (2022), and LMU Munich Job-Market Fellowship (2018).
