Custódia Maria Luís Gago received her B.Sc. in Agronomy from Instituto Superior de Agronomia (Technical University of Lisbon), the M.Sc. in Horticulture from Instituto Superior de Agronomia (Technical University of Lisbon) and Ph.D. in Agrarian Sciences from University of Algarve. She has worked on research projects on Postharvest science and technology of horticultural crops, in the Department of Biological Sciences and Bio-engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology in the Algarve University. At present, she works on the biological processes and biochemical mechanisms associated with chilling injury and development of nanocoatings that prevent the onset of this disorder. She has published 40 papers in scientific journals and 20 articles in international conferences.
