Sílvia Rodrigues has a Master’s degree in Bioengineering - Biomedical Engineering branch which was completed with a research project at Biomedical Engineering Institute (INEB) entitled “Exploring the cardiac response to injury: new clues to enhance repair/regeneration”. Currently, she is Intern Laboratory Staff at Exogenus. She holds an individual PhD fellowship granted by Portuguese Foundation of Science and Technology and she is enrolled in a PhD programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine at University of Coimbra. She is an expert in cell biology as her master and doctoral work were dedicated to the characterization of biological mechanisms associated with tissue regeneration. Sílvia is experienced in working with advanced microscopy techniques, molecular biology and cell culture and evaluation of regenerative therapies efficacy. Since Sílvia’s integration at Exogenus, she has acquired a vast knowledge on extracellular vesicles research area, participating in the annual international meeting of ISEV (International Society for Extracellular Vesicles) and being member of the same institution. She is accredited with Course of Sciences in Laboratory Sciences - Function A, C and Modules 20, 21 and 22 necessary to execute animal research. Sílvia has also integrated the group of Francisco Sanchez Madrid at CNIC where she acquired valuable expertise on animal models for autoimmune diseases and also on in vitro models to study T cell differentiation. She is also an Inventor of the one patent protecting Exogenus technology.
