I completed both a Bachelor's (2015) and Master's Degree (2017) in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, and I completed my PhD in Agrarian Sciences at the same institution in 2023. I am a post-doc researcher at GreenUPorto working on the VIIAFOOD project. Throughout my academic and professional career, my main area of interest has been Food Science, developing my Master's and PhD theses on the topic of using new food sources (edible insects) and having also been a Research Fellow at the MobFood mobilization project in a Sensory Analysis and Consumer Testing company (Sense Test, Lda). More specifically, I have acquired a high level of experience and interest in topics related to the development of new food products (with the study of processing and extraction techniques, which gave rise to a definitive patent application with territorial extension - Method for fractioning of an edible insect PAT487) and application of innovative sensory analysis and consumer perception methodologies. Regarding this last topic, I already have a high level of experience in planning, executing, and analyzing sensory analysis tests with an assessment of global acceptability and sensory profile (Check-All-That-Apply, Rate-All-That-Apply, Flash Profile, Ultra Flash Profile-Projective Mapping, Temporal-Check-All-That-Apply, Temporal Dominance of Sensations). Additionally, as a Research Fellow of the MobFood project, I was involved in developing an Augmented Reality system capable of being applied in consumer studies. While developing my PhD thesis, I was also able to teach the subject of "Sensory analysis and the development of new products" as a guest assistant professor. Moreover, through my experience in the food industry, I have acquired knowledge regarding the planning and execution of formations targeting the detection of wine defects, quality management systems, and accreditation of laboratory tests. In particular, I have contributed to developing and implementing a quality management system certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and the accreditation of sensory hedonic tests according to ISO 17025:2018 and ISO 11136:2014.
