Graduated in Dental Medicine from the Instituto Superior de Ciências Dentárias do Porto - CESPU in 1993. PhD in Dentistry in the specialty of Oral Microbiology from the University Paul Sabatier-Toulouse III in 2002. Worked as a Dentist at CESPU from 1993 until 2018. Works teaching activity at CESPU since 1993, being since 2018 regent of General Microbiology of the Integrated Masters in Dental Medicine. She was coordinator of the Oral Hygiene Course at IPSN-CESPU from 2009 to 2012. She was a researcher at CICS-CESPU from 2007 to 2011. From 2012 to 2021 she was a researcher at IINFACTS-CESPU, in the Oral Diseases research line. Since 2022 she has been a researcher at Unipro (Oral Pathology and Rehabilitation Research Unit.
