Martim Zanatti holds a BSc (2019) and an MSc (2021) in Computer Science and Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, and has been pursuing a PhD in the same field since February 2022. His research focuses on Natural Language Processing applied to Portuguese legal documents, with particular emphasis on automatic summarization, document segmentation, extreme multi-label classification, and the evaluation of summarization systems. From September 2021 to September 2023, he worked on the IRIS project, a collaboration between INESC-ID and the Portuguese Supreme Court of Justice, focused on the automatic summarization and classification of judicial decisions. From January 2024 to December 2025, he was part of the Center for Responsible AI project, which supported his doctoral research and included collaboration with NeuralShift, an AI startup. His research has resulted in several peer-reviewed publications as first and corresponding author, including work presented at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law (ICAIL 2025), the EPIA Conference on Artificial Intelligence, and Linguamática. Since September 2024, he serves as a guest lecturer in the AI & Law Master's program at the Faculdade de Direito, Universidade de Lisboa.
