Librarian at the National Library of Luxembourg in the Manuscript and Old Book Department and Full Member of the IEF - Institute for Philosophical Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. His research is primarily concerned with i) Aristotelianism, most notably Aristotle's theoretical philosophy (Metaphysics, Biological writings, Physics, and the Categories) as well as the commentaries in late antiquity and the Renaissance, in particular the connection between Iberian and Italian Aristotelianisms; ii) aesthetics, especially the philosophy of music during the 18th and 19th centuries, but also the issue of how images were used in scientific treatises throughout the Renaissance and the modern age; and iii) epistemology, mainly truth theories and the interplay between the doctrine of knowledge and philosophy of language.
