Vera Viana is a researcher in Centre of Studies of Architecture and Urbanism (CEAU) at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto (FAUP), since 2018, and Integrated member of CEAU since November 2020. She is the Director of Aproged (the Portuguese Geometry and Drawing Teachers' Association) since 2009. She has directed her teaching practices and research purposes toward the enhancement of mathematics education through advanced digital tools and 3D printing technology. Viana's research focuses on the transformative potential of digital culture in mathematics education and the intersections of computer science with geometry, polyhedral theory, structural morphology, the relationships between architecture and mathematics, and the history of mathematics. Viana authored a Ph.D. Thesis, book chapters, papers, lectures, courses, and online resources on these subjects. Co-Chair and Organizing Committee member of international events meant to disseminate scientific knowledge in multidisciplinary frameworks. Editor of peer-reviewed publications for scientific events published by Springer Nature (2020, 2022), the International Society for the Interdisciplinary Study of Symmetry (2022), and Aproged (2013-2021). Editorial Board member of the Nexus Network Journal. Descriptive Geometry Teacher (1993-2011) and author of schoolbooks (2013, 2014).
