Cláudia is a Guest Assistant at Católica Porto Business School and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto. Graduated in Sociology from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and holds a master's degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education Sciences at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto. She has been involved in projects of social entrepreneurship, social innovation, and participatory citizenship, notably in the design and implementation of the first Youth Participatory Budgeting of Valongo (YPBV), developed in partnership with the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto and the Youth House. As a consultant, she has worked on various funded projects from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (e.g. Action Plans for Disadvantaged Communities in the Porto Metropolitan Area and Local Housing Strategies) and Camões - Institute for Cooperation and Language. Cláudia has participated in different national and international research projects in areas such as social entrepreneurship, individualism, and civic participation for the Universities of Porto and Lisbon, and Cardiff University. She has also volunteered in various social intervention projects such as PEEP - Platform for Entrepreneurship Education in Portugal, A3S - Association for Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability of the Third Sector, and UMAR - Union of Alternative and Response Women. More recently, she was part of the evaluation and monitoring team of the MaiaInclui project. She has interests and publications in the areas of social innovation and entrepreneurship, social economy, pedagogical innovation, and volunteer management. In recent years she has supervised Master dissertations on the role of the State in a market economy, corporate volunteering and corporate social responsibility and Fair Trade. Currently, she volunteers at the Diálogo Acontece Association, which aims to promote and disseminate Fair Trade principles and products, as well as knowledge and citizenship.
