Daniel Vecchio Alves has an interdisciplinary background in the Human Sciences: he has a PhD in History from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where he was a CNPq researcher. He has a Master's degree in Literary Studies and a degree in History from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), where he was a CAPES researcher. He also has a background in education, with a specialization in Teaching in Higher Education from Senac-SP and a master's degree in Education and Digital Technologies from the University of Lisbon (ULISBOA). He is currently a post-doctoral researcher in Vernacular Literature - Literary Studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with a grant from FAPERJ / Post- Doctorate Note 10. He has produced theses and published articles on the literary work of José Saramago based on research into the writer's estate at the National Library of Portugal and the José Saramago Foundation. He is a member of the Saramago Readers of Marx Research Group (PUC-MG/CNPq) and participates in the courses offered by the José Saramago Free Chair at the National University of Córdoba (UNC). He also has produced theses and articles on this and other areas of interest, and has published in various national and international scientific journals. His research interests cover the relationship between History and Fiction, the History of Imaginaries, the History of Maritime Voyages and the History of Literature (with an emphasis on the history of Portuguese-language literature). In education, his research covers the History of Education, Pedagogical Coordination and Educational Technologies.
