Natália Gonçalves da Silva successfully completed her master´s degree in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology in 2018 at the University of Porto (Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar). Her thesis research focused on the isolation of natural products to address the obesity and related co-morbidities challenges. Afterwards, she worked as a research fellow on the CYANOBESITY - "Cyanobacteria as a source of bioactive compounds with effects on obesity and obesity-related co-morbidities" project at the BBE (Blue Biotechnology and Ecotoxicology) laboratory from CIIMAR. As a result, she developed and strengthened several skills in a range of Biological and Chemical procedures, including (i) several microorganism cultures, (ii) chemical fractionation and natural product isolation, (iii) structure elucidation of compounds by spectroscopic and spectrometric techniques, (iv) bioactivity screenings (cell-based and zebrafish-based assays) and in vivo toxicological assays and (v) molecular characterization of compounds. Additionally, she published two papers, one of which as first author, she is co-inventor in one Provisional Patent Application with internationalization request approved and is involved in scientific dissemination (either by conference presentations or presentations in international partners meetings). Currently, she is working in CIIMAR for her doctoral degree in Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture at the University of Porto (Faculty of Sciences). In her Ciência Vitae curriculum the most frequent key-words in the context of scientific, technological and artistic-cultural production are: Natural products; Bioactivities; Metabolic diseases; Extraction; Fractionation; Zebrafish assays;
