Roberta Holanda Maschietto has a PhD in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Brasília. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Public Policies and International Relations (IPPRI) at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), funded by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Convênio CAPES-PRINT-UNESP). She is also a member of the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies (CCP), linked to the Center for Research in International Relations (NUPRI) at the University of São Paulo and associate editor of CEBRI-Revista. Between 2005 and 2009 she was a professor of International Relations in Brasília, Brazil. Since 2009 she has worked as a researcher in Peace and Conflict Studies. In 2016 she was a visiting researcher at the Rotary Peace Studies Centre, Bradford University. Between 2017 and 2023 she was a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Social Studies (CES) at the University of Coimbra, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). During this period she was also a visiting researcher at the Department of Politics at the University of Manchester between 2018 and 2019. She is currently working on three main research fronts. The first addresses the subjective visions of peace in Mozambique and Timor-Leste. The second is related to the views of Brazilian youth on peace, violence and power. Finally, she is one of the main researchers of the project ¿The margins of the State in the pandemic: experiences of human (in)security in Brazilian peripheries¿, carried out within the scope of the CCP in partnership with the Perseu Abramo Foundation. Other areas of interest and investigation include: peace and conflict studies more broadly, critical approaches to peacebuilding, local development and capacity building in post-war contexts, and peace education. Since 2015, she has been an active member of the Peace, Conflict and Critical Security Studies Research Network (PCECS) in Brazil, a growing network that has been responsible for the Brazilian Peace Studies Meetings (EBEP) since 2016.
