Bernardo Cruz is a social and organizational psychologist with a keen interest in how individuals perceive and adopt innovation in real-world contexts, particularly in the areas of health, sustainability, and risk communication. He holds a master’s degree in social and organizational psychology from Universidade Lusófona in 2021, where he completed a thesis on impression management strategies (graded 19/20) and earned a final average of 18/20. His academic path also included an Erasmus semester at the University of Padova. During his master's, he conducted a psychosocial risk assessment involving 90 healthcare professionals in long-term care facilities, contributing to the development of an organizational intervention plan. Since 2023, he has worked as an Assistant Researcher at HEI-Lab – Digital Human-Environment Interaction Lab, where he contributes to nationally and EU-funded projects such as BioLaMer (Horizon Europe), Warning Impact, and TechMap. These projects have expanded his expertise in social psychology research, co-creation activities, digital discourse analysis, and science communication and dissemination. Bernardo is the author of four peer-reviewed articles, including a first-author publication, two forthcoming book chapters, and several conference presentations across Europe. He is an active board member of the Society for Risk Analysis – Iberian Chapter and has played a central role in organizing its annual academic events.
