My name is Juliana Sofia, I am a 25-years-old, holder of a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution, both from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP). I am broadly interested in understanding the evolutionary mechanisms underlying adaptation in natural populations, as well as assess the potential of species to cope with climate changes. To do so, I work manily with genomic data, using molecular methods and bioinformatic approaches. I am currently improving my scientific skills as a hired researcher at the EVOCHANGE lab (Cibio-InBio), namely using historical DNA samples to investigate potential temporal changes in patterns of introgression that might have occurred in the last century as a result of rapid climate shifts.
