Sara Inteiro-Oliveira is currently a PhD student at Instituto de Farmacologia e Neurociências, Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Lisboa (IFN/FMUL), Fundação GiMM- Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GiMM) and CoLab AccelBio. In 2019 Sara completed a bachelors degree in General Biology at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias. Throughout the bachelor´s degree, she had training in multiple areas of biology, being the area of Neuroscience the most that captivated her. As this passion gained strength, Sara pursued this interest further by enrolling on Master´s degree in Neurosciences at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa. Thus, she developed her master thesis at IFN/FMUL and iMM focused on neurodegeneration field. Thereupon, she has been focusing on the use of small molecules as potential therapeutical strategies targeted to BDNF/TrkB-FL signaling system dysfunction found in the context of Alzheimer's disease. She considers herself as determined, hard-working and easy-going person with passion for her work. Moreover, she is a co-author published papers, participated in multiple scientific communication events, has received 3 awards and/or honors, 2 research fellowships (2023, 2024) and she's a team member in highly competitive awarded researcher projects. Keywords: Biology, Neurosciences, Neurodegeneration, Alzheimer's Disease, BDNF/TrkB-FL system, Small compounds
