Ana M. Sousa holds a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Science and Technologies at the University of Coimbra. After completing her bachelor's degree, she researched and developed a particular interest in engineering, namely materials and their processing methods. As a result, she took a master's degree in Materials Engineering at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Coimbra. Both Biochemistry and Materials Engineering graduations have given her a multidisciplinary education, from which she has gathered a set of solid theoretical and laboratory capabilities in a wide range of scientific fields. In 2020 she started her PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Surface Engineering and Nanotechnologies) at the University of Coimbra. She was granted a PhD Scholarship by FCT entitled "2D and 3D Sustainable Technologies for the Production of Cardiovascular Stents. At the moment, she has 3 articles published in Q1 journals as the first author. Participated in 6 conferences and events. Co-supervised 1 MSc dissertation(s) and Supervised 1f LSc/BSc Project. Has received 2 awards and/or honours. At the moment, she works in the areas of Medical engineering with an emphasis on Medical Biotechnology and Biomaterials.
