Bernardo Ferro is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Philosophical Studies (IEF) of the University of Coimbra, where he works on the history of modern European philosophy, social and political philosophy and critical theory, as part of the IEF's strategic area "Care, Politics and Ethics". He was a visiting researcher at the Humboldt University of Berlin, a postdoctoral fellow at KU Leuven and a teaching assistant at the University of Wuppertal and the University of Warwick. He is the author of the monograph "Masters, Slaves and Philosophers: Plato, Hegel and Nietzsche on Freedom and the Pursuit of Knowledge" (Springer, 2022) and has written book chapters, reviews and articles for the European Journal of Philosophy, Philosophy & Social Criticism, Critical Horizons, Kairos, Hegel-Studien, Hegel Bulletin and Revista Portuguesa de Filosofia, among others.
