Concha Cano-Díaz is an ecologist, working as post-doctoral researcher in the Centre for Research and Development in Agrifood Systems and Sustainability (CISAS) of the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo. Her PhD was done in the University Rey Juan Carlos (Spain) in 2021 on the ecology and distribution of soil cyanobacteria. With a Biology background, she is interested in the diversity, functionality and interactions in soil communities, particularly biological soil crusts and soil microorganisms. She has a post-doctoral scholarship granted by the Portuguese government in the context of the research project SoilRecon, where she is exploring the relationships between soil diversity and functionality, human impacts on soil and future climate change scenarios in the North of Portugal.
