Mansur is a visual anthropologist with a PhD from UNICAMP (São Paulo) and specialization in Arts Administration at New York University. Her research combines ethnographic practice, film analysis, and research-creation, focusing on intangible cultural heritage and contemporary processes of image restitution and reactivation. She develops teaching and methodological work in visual anthropology, audiovisual heritage, and digital narratives. Visiting professor at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon (2025/2026), teaching Anthropology & Image and Ethnographic Methods. She is an international lecturer, including at the United Nations University (2025), where she presented the lecture Safeguarding (Digital) Cultural Heritage in Crises. She has lectured at CRIA – Centre for Research in Anthropology, the State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes), and Lusófona University of Porto. She regularly acts as moderator and discussant in academic, museum, and festival contexts, including Doclisboa International Film Festival, National Museum of Natural History and Science of Lisbon, Fundação Oriente, Arquipélago – Contemporary Arts Centre of the Azores, and the Pierre Verger Award Showcase. Creator of innovative methodologies, she worked as a consultant on an educational platform developed by the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) and the Roberto Marinho Foundation, coordinating distance-learning courses and advising on a mentorship programme. She is the co-creator of the Hackathon Webdoc, dedicated to the production of interactive, collective, and community-based documentaries integrating research, training, and audiovisual experimentation with 9 editions to date. In 2022, she coordinated the project at ISCTE/CRIA. Its outcome (www.passaponte.pt) was selected to represent the institution at the European Researchers’ Night, highlighting its relevance as a model of collaborative research-creation and public engagement. Employing visual anthropology as a research tool within scholarly practice, her visual productions extend to installation and interactive media, exploring relations between arts and ethnography. Her most recent documentary, Sé do Porto – Diário de um Restauro, was screened during the European Heritage Days (2025). Her films The Sound of Bells (2017) and Cine Rabeca (2023) were screened at international festivals in Europe, Asia and the Americas and exhibited at institutions such as the Museo Etnográfico de Castilla y León (Spain), Paço Imperial (Brazil), Margaret Mead Film Festival at the American Museum of Natural History and Harvard Museum (USA), and Festival International du Film Ethnographique du Québec (Canada). Awards include Best Transmedia Project at the Muestra de Antropología Audiovisual de Madrid (2018) and Best Medium Documentary Film at the Archive on Display Film Festival (Brazil, 2023). Her academic activity includes project evaluation, jury participation, and peer review, having served as a reviewer for the British Film Institute – Doc Society and as an ad hoc evaluator for Amazon Research Support Foundation (FAPESPA). She has been a jury member at the Royal Anthropological Film Festival, Doclisboa, and Olhares do Mediterrâneo, and a reviewer for PROA and Horizontes Antropológicos. She actively participates in international academic conferences in anthropology, cinema, and ethnomusicology. Also a cultural manager, she served as Director of Doc’s Kingdom – International Seminar on Documentary Film (2023–2025). During her tenure, she strengthened ties with local artists and scholars, repositioned the Seminar as a culturally grounded encounter, and led its relocation from northern Portugal to the Alentejo, securing sustained public and private support for six years. She is co-founder of Estúdio CRUA and has over 20 years of experience in partnerships, fundraising, and project management with institutions such as Video in the Villages (Brazil), UnionDocs (USA), and British Council (UK).
