Joana Quarenta is a collaborator at the Research Center for Psychological Science (CICPSI). She earned her PhD degree from FPUL with the highest distinction, "approved with distinction and honors." Joana was awarded a Fellowship for Doctoral Research by the Portuguese National Science and Technology Foundation (FCT; SFRH/BD/144744/2019) and conducted her doctoral research at FPUL (Portugal) and CU Boulder (USA), with her thesis titled "The Role of Social Information on the Cross-Race Recognition Deficit." She has published four articles (two as first author) and presented her work at both national (e.g., APPE) and international conferences (e.g., SPSP, MPA). Additionally, she co-organized a symposium at the 95th Annual Meeting of the MPA titled "Cross-Race Faces: Inquiries on Typicality, Encoding, and Individuation."
