Anabela G. Dias holds a PhD in Engineering Sciences attributed by the Faculty of Engineering of UP. During her PhD, she performed her research at INEB in biodegradable glass ceramics for bone regeneration. She was a visiting researcher at the Biomaterials Laboratory in Okayama University, Japan (2002) and at the College of Physical Sciences in the Aberdeen University, United Kingdom (2003). In 2007, she attained a Post-Doctoral in Interaction apatite-cells for medical applications in bone regeneration while performing a Graduate Program in Medical Physics at the Faculty of Science in UP. Currently, she works as a Physicist and she is Researcher at Medical Physics, Radiological and Radiation Protection group, both at IPO-Porto. During this time, Anabela participated as a researcher in a variety of scientific projects financed by FCT as well by European community. She published relevant scientific publications in indexed journals. More than 18 students have obtained the degree under her supervision, including master and undergraduate degrees and currently supervising 2 PhD students. She has been jury in some defences of academic degrees. From 2009 to 2013, she was an invited assistant professor at Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto. Since 2008 she has also been an invited assistant professor at the Sciences Faculty in UP in Medical Physics master.
