ADS library link : https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/public-libraries/hiad1Cx4QqGlKeryWT1ogw My career as an astrophysicist has been driven by a deep commitment to advancing exoplanet science through a combination of observational research, innovative methodologies, and international collaboration. Over the past years, I have played a key role in the detection and characterisation of more than 150 exoplanets, developing new models and techniques that have improved our understanding of planetary systems. My work has been recognised through leadership roles in major international projects, funding acquisition, and numerous high-impact publications. I am an active member of the CHEOPS Science Team and lead the "Feature.Characterise" Working Group, where I have played a strong role in optimising the analysis of CHEOPS data. I have been developing advanced models of data analysis addressing challenges such as the mitigation of stellar activity and the correction of instrumental noise. In the PLATO mission, I lead two working packages, ensuring the development of robust methodologies for planet detection and validation. My expertise in planetary tidal deformation is highlighted in my work on WASP-103b (Barros et al. 2022a), which provided the first observational constraints on the Love number of an exoplanet, offering new insights into planetary interior structures. Additionally, I contribute to ground-based spectroscopic efforts as a Science Team member of the ESPRESSO and NIRPS instruments, where my work enhances the precision of exoplanet mass measurements (e.g. Barros et al. 2022b). Beyond research, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship, supervising students at various academic levels and developing pedagogical materials that enhance learning in astrophysics. I am keen in forming the next generation of scientists by participating in international schools and outreach initiatives aimed at inspiring young minds and promoting diversity in STEM. Furthermore, I have actively engaged in scientific communication and communitybuilding efforts, frequently interacting with the media to share discoveries and giving public talks. Building on my leadership in PLATO and CHEOPS, in the coming years I will focus on the detection and characterisation of Earth-like planets in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars. A key priority will be the follow-up of PLATO’s terrestrial candidates to precisely measure their densities, orbital architectures, and atmospheres. Additionally, I will continue investigating star-planet tidal interactions using data from CHEOPS, JWST, and TESS to refine planetary interior models and understand the role of tidal forces in system evolution. My vision is to establish a leading research program that not only advances exoplanetary science but also cultivates an inclusive and collaborative scientific community.
