Bruno Miguel Fernandes Ladeira is a Research Fellow currently working at CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials. He completed a Bachelor's program in Biotechnology at the University of Aveiro in 2019 and he obtained a Master's degree in Biotechnology (Molecular Biotechnology branch) in 2021 at the same institution. During the final year of his Bachelor's he participated in a project focused on the synthesis of new porphyrin photosensitizers for antimicrobial photodynamic inactivaction. During his Master's, he wrote a dissertation based on the generation of human protein-derived microsponges for regeneration post-myocardial infarction. His current research interests include the development of human protein-based biomaterials to promote heart and bone regeneration and the fabrication of core-shell platforms for cell encapsulation. He currently has 3 published peer-reviewed publications, focusing on the development of novel materials for biomedical applications.
