Professora e Investigadora Ana Nunes é Mestre em Linguística, pela Universidade de Aveiro e Doutorada em tecnologias da Saúde (Fonética Experimental), pela Escola Superior de Saúde e Departamento de Línguas e Culturas da da Universidade de Aveiro. É, ainda, Pós-graduada em ensino de Português Língua Não Materna, pela Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Foi Professora Associada Convidada na Universidade de Estocolmo, na Suécia e lecionou, durante 15 anos, na Faculdade de Letras, da Universidade de Macau, onde durante 8 anos foi professora associada exercendo funções como vice-diretora do Departamento de Português; Diretora do Centro de formação e educação bilingue Chinês-Português e de Coordenação de diversos cursos de licenciatura, Mestrado e Doutoramento. Exerce, neste momento, funções de Investigadora no Centro de Línguas Literaturas e Culturas da Universidade de Aveiro. Os seus principais interesses na investigação prendem-se, fundamentalmente, com as dificuldades de aprendizagem da língua portuguesa por falantes chineses, O perfil do aluno Chinês; o Bi e Multilinguismo; Multiculturalidade, Metodologias da educação e análise de Voz. Apresentando um vasto número de artigos sobre estes temas.
