In 2017 I completed the PhD in Molecular and Environmental Biology Doctoral Program by the University of Minho. I have a Master Degree in Contamination and Environmental Toxicology and a Degree in Applied Biology. Since early in my career i was involved in several projects with contracts or grants in the Ecotoxicology area. The most recents were the SKANABILITY POCI-01-0145-FEDER-047213 project: "Biological activity of cannabinoids and terpenes - cosmeceutical and medical applications"; and the EMERGEMIX PTDC / BIA-BMA / 30922/2017 project: "Effects of mixtures of emerging contaminants in aquatic ecosystems: a multi-level approach to biological organization". Most recently I'am an Invited Assistent Professor at the Department of Biology at the University of Minho and my current research interests are: Plastics Biodegradation by microbial decomposers; impacts of emerging contaminants (plastics, nanoparticles, pharmaceuticals) in freshwater ecosystems; Trophic interactions; Microbial decomposers (aquatic fungi and bacteria) and invertebrates (shredders and collectors); Leaf litter decomposition on aquatic ecosystems; Molecular tools to assess microbial decomposers.
