I have a transdisciplinary training where I completed a degree in Biomedical Sciences, a master in Pharmaceutical Medicine, and a PhD in Public Health, and diverse research professional experiences, that allowed me to become a public health researcher and to develop an in-depth understanding of current knowledge and challenges in the social adversity epidemiology and inequalities in health. During the doctoral program I developed skills in advanced quantitative methods, especially dealing with longitudinal data from Generation XXI birth cohort. I have publications in peer-review journals, on the impact of exposure to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on biological markers (cardiometabolic and inflammatory markers). Since September 2024 I am working as a Junior Researcher from the 6th edition of the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus (CEEC) from FCT (2023.07197.CEECIND), where she classified in 1/37 in the Health Sciences panel. In 2022 I was awarded as a Principal Investigator in Call for SR&TD Project Grants from Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, with the Project “H3arts - Moving upstream in the determinants of cardiovascular health: A lifecourse approach using population-based cohorts from three world regions” (46 634,19€) (2023-2024). I am currently working as post-doc researcher at ISPUP, Invited Assistant Professor of Social Determinants of Health (Determinantes Sociais da Saúde) and of Addiction Prevention (Prevenção das Dependências) in the Master Degree Course in Health Education, and Invited Assistant Professor of Social Determinants of Health (Determinantes Sociais da Saúde) in the Master Degree Course in Public Health from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, member of the Department of Health and Society and of the research group on Social Epidemiology at the Institute of Public Health of University of Porto (ISPUP). I am also part of the Global Cardiovascular Health Research Collaborative and investigator in the project “Population studies of cardiovascular health trajectories from early childhood in LMICs”, funded by the Global Health Research Catalyzer Funding from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I have co-authored 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals (10 of which as first author) and several abstracts in conference proceedings, totalizing 1199 citations (h-index=13). I am co-author of numerous oral communications and posters presented to national and international conferences and I was awarded with several international distinctions.
