Vanda Pereira de Matos concluded her European PhD in Architecture - specialty of Conservation and Rehabilitation in 2018, a degree conceded by the Lisbon School of Architecture, University of Lisbon. Previously, in 2009, she obtained a Bologna Integrated Master Degree in Architecture - Built Heritage from Lusiada University of Lisbon, after having concluded, in in 2003, a Pre-Bologna Master Degree in Rehabilitation of the Architecture and Urban Nucleus, at Lisbon School of Architecture, University of Lisbon. Since 2014, she is a member of the Research Centre for Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD), a Centre funded by FCT. In the course of her research activity she presented her work in international peer reviewed symposiums and conferences, and published in articles in book chapters, proceedings and journal. As an architect she has worked in the City Halls of Alcobaça and Évora (2010-2012) As a freelancer, she developed some work as designer and architect, collaborating with senior architects. Since 2003, she has elected the architectural heritage as her research field . After the conclusion of her European PhD, she published papers on the topics of her PhD thesis. From September 2019 until March 2022, she has been a grantee of the Rossio project, funded by European Union-FEDER, Lisboa 2020; Portugal 2020, FCT (Fundação da Ciência e Tecnologia) and UNL-Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Rossio is an infrastructure of virtual research whose goal is to provide an open access digital platform for dissemination of quality digital contents, for scholars, students, and citizens in general, in the fields of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, contributing for the excellence and internationalization of the research in these fields. At Direção-Geral do Património Cultural (DGPC), the project was developed at Forte de Sacavém, Reduto do Monte Sintra, Sacavém - SIPA (Sistema de Informação para o Património Arquitetónico). In Rossio project she worked in the domains of History of Architecture and Urbanism, and in the optimization of the databases, the terminology, and in the register of edifices. In 2022- 2023 she had a service contract to analyze and classify the built heritage of the Residential category, to develop image descriptors for the photographic records of the archive database of DGPC / Forte Sacavém (Process number 69/DGPC/22), and to provide them with key-words, to permit a more controlled research by the users, of the institutional site of DGPC (www.monumentos.pt).
