Coordinator Professor at IPB, Simão Pinho is permanent member of the Mountain Research Center (CIMO, IPB), where he is the Coordinator of the group Sustainable Processes and Products. He has large expertise in the experimental determination of physical properties and phase equilibria involving compounds such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, terpenes or peptides, and innovative solvents such as ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents. Simão Pinho participated in several research projects, has published over 120 papers and books chapters, more than 150 oral and poster communications, supervise(d) 10 PhD. and 35 MSc. theses, and has an h-index of 37. He has co-edited a special issue in an International Journal, and belongs to the scientific committee of international conferences, participating as a researcher or principal coordinator of several projects. Concerning teaching activities, most of it is related to thermodynamics or physical-chemistry courses for studies in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Engineering of Renewable Energies. Simão Pinho acts now as Director of the Chemical Engineering Master at IPB.
