Margarida Gonçalves is an FCT Ph.D. research fellow (2022.12799.BD), developing scientific activity on the subject: “PCM Enhanced Building Envelope: Optimized performance for resilient and sustainable building stock”. Margarida Gonçalves began her scientific research career in 2016 at the University of Coimbra, working as a research fellow for two years in the “PCMs4Buildings” project (ref. PTDC/EMS-ENE/6079/2014|POCI-01-0145-FEDER-016750), with the objective of developing a CFD methodology for the parametric analysis of the thermal behaviour of new thermal energy storage systems with rectangular cavities, filled with phase change materials (PCM). In 2019, and for 18 months, Margarida Gonçalves was hired to join the research team of the “THERMACORE” project (ref. PTDC/ECICON/30364/2017|POCI-01-0145-FEDER-030364) at the University of Aveiro, focusing on a new challenge, the development of a thermally active core wall for building’s applications. Margarida Gonçalves published five journal papers, as a result of the most recent scientific activity developed, two were published as first author and another three as co-author, in international peer-review journals (with IF ranging between 3.623 and 6.583). Margarida Gonçalves scientific interests include PCM incorporation into constructive solutions, innovative materials, buildings energy efficiency and thermal comfort.
