Mariana da Corte Abreu is a Chemical Engineering with a Master's Degree in Energy and Bioenergy and currently, is student in the Doctoral Program in Bioenergy at NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT). She was a Ph.D. student fellow with reference 2020.06236.BD (https://doi.org/10.54499/2020.06236.BD) in the Project "BIOENER(GIS)-Using GIS Methodologies and Tools Towards Energy Crops for a Sustainable Land Use in Portugal" funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P (FCT) until March 2025, being the work developed in the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology, I.P (LNEG). She has 3 articles published in conferences. She published 2 papers in specialized journals and is co-author in other 4 articles. She has 1 book chapter. Presented 5 posters at conferences. Presented 10 oral works. She participated in several events and training courses related to biomass/bioenergy and cartography. She carried out scientific refereeing on several papers from several MDPI journals. It is a member of "Subprogramme 5 (SP5) – Sustainability, Techno-Economic Analysis, Public Perception" specifically in the Research Priority "1 - Land use impacts of bioenergy" of the European Energy Research Alliance - EERA (Bioenergy Joint Programme). She collaborated in the execution of the report entitled "Estimativa de potenciais técnicos de energia renovável em Portugal: eólico, solar fotovoltaico, solar concentrado, biomassa e oceanos" for LNEG. She received an honorary mention for his Undergraduate Dissertation.
