Ana Gracinda Alves Ramos accomplished the Graduation in Sports Sciences in 2014/08/07 and the Master degree in High Sport Performance in 2016/07/13 by Faculty of Sport, University of Porto. She completed a PhD degree (2021/01/26) - funded by FCT under the grant: BD/126387/2016 - at the Centre for Research, Education, Innovation, and Intervention in Sport (CIFI2D), Faculty of Sport, University of Porto. She also completed a Post-Doctoral degree in Sports Pedagogy in 2022, at the same institution. Recently, the research group from which she takes part in was granted by FCT funding for the projects: (i) "Ongoing bidirectional feedback between assessment and implementation in educational environments: A longitudinal, randomized, exploratory intervention with female volleyball players", and (ii) Tackling the COVID-19 pandemic social deprivation effects: Reconnecting youth through participation equality and positive interpersonal relationships in Physical Education - effects of gender and social status" applied to FCT Calls for R&D project. Within the area of Sports Sciences, her research interests are related to the topic of Coach Education, Continuous Professional Developmer, Coach Developers, Sports Training, Sports Pedagogy and Didactics. Throughout her educational process, Ana collaborates with colleagues at universities in United Kingdom (Doctor Keith Davids, Sheffield Hallam University, and Doctor Luciana De Martin-Silva, Hartpury University), Australia (Doctor Carla Valerio, Southern Cross University, Gold Cost) and Portugal (Doctor José Carlos Leitão, and Professor António Cortinhas Trás-os-Montes University; Doctor Orlando Fernandes, University of Évora). She works in the areas of Social Sciences with emphasis on Educational Sciences. Ana scientific path is reflected in high standards research outputs, with more than 50 authored or co-authored publications in international peer reviewed and indexed journal. She also authored or coauthored more than 10 book chapters and 15 conference abstracts. The dissemination of the main findings to the community (i.e., teachers, coaches, parents, etc.) has been accomplished through the participation in 20 scientific events (i.e., seminars, congresses, conferences and workshops), with 3 poster presentations, 18 oral communications, and 3 invitations for keynote speaker as well. Herteaching career in higher education began in the 2020/2021, when she as appointed as the principal lecturer (regent) for the curricular units Systematics of Sports IV and VII – Volleyball in the Sports Training programme at the Polytechnic Institute of Maia, Portugal. In the following academic year (2021/2022), she expanded her teaching activities as an invited assistant professor at the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto (FADEUP; 50% employment contract). In this role, she taught five curricular units focused on pedagogy and didactics in volleyball, as well as coach education. Specifically, I taught Practical Studies III and IV – Volleyball and Methodology of Sports I, II and III – Volleyball. Within the curricular units Methodology of Sports II and III, she worked as a supervisor of 22 student-coaches (i.e., students undertaking professional internships as volleyball coaches in clubs), assuming direct responsibilities within the scope of coach education. Between 2021 and 2024, she worked as an invited assistant professor at both institutions. In January 2025, she endorsed the position of associate professor at FADEUP. This advancement also positioned her as the principal lecturer (regent) for the curricular units Methodology of Sports II and III, as well as a lecturer in the curricular units “Training and Professional Development of Coaches” within the Master’s and Doctoral programme in Sports Training. Moreover, she currently participate as supervisor of 5 master thesis, and co-supervisor of 3 doctoral thesis.
