Ailton Moreira. He completed the master's degree in Integrated Master Engineering and Management of Information Systems in 2017 at the School of Engineering University of Minho. In September 2016 he decided to venture into an Erasmus program to acquire new knowledge, get new experiences, and know new cultures. He went to Poznan University of Technology where he did his Erasmus program in Computer Science (Poland). During his graduation, he was enrolled in several subjects related to software development such as web and mobile application, and development of computer applications where he fostered his knowledge in database (relational and non-relational), backend development, frontend development, and SOAP and REST API. Also, he acquired knowledge in interoperability, systems integrations, data mining, data warehouse, artificial intelligence which he fostered and improved his knowledge in machine learning algorithms knowledge engineering, and decision support systems. On his master's degree thesis, he could apply several of these topics to his research project, where he designed and developed a prototype of Hospital Personal Assistant for Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto. After he concluded his master's degree, he started the investigation having started as a Research Fellow in the Intelligent Data Systems (IDS) research group at the ALGORITMI Center, which now he has more than 4 years of experience in scientific research. He started this path-working on a project related to his master's degree thesis where he covered topics of knowledge Extraction, Knowledge in Data Systems, Integration and Interoperability Knowledge, and Knowledge in Software Engineering. This project is currently implemented in Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila Verde. His participation in this project showed him his passion for healthcare systems where he got enrolled in new projects at Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto. Then he decides to continue the research, in September 2018 he joined the doctoral program in Information Systems and Technologies. Also, he had the opportunity to participate in a research project at Bosch. He participated in the Factory of Future Smart Manufacturing, in which he acquired, developed, and improved new soft and technical skills, such as knowledge in hierarchical algorithms, data extraction, and transformation, real-time data processing, ETL systems, data warehousing, systems integration, interoperability, and software development. For his PhD project, he participated in several research projects that are currently in the implementation phase at CHUP. Moreover, he proposed a model of interaction in healthcare services where health professionals can provide better services to patients across multiple channels of interaction. This model was tested and implemented during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic at CHUP. He contributed to the organization of the ECIS conference held in Guimarães in 2017. He also participated in the organization of the Hospital 4.0 and HODII workshop, both at international conferences. He has 5 scientific articles published in journals and 1 book chapter resulting from the work developed within the scope of the doctoral program. He participated in a debate with other PALOPS PhD students from other Universities in Portugal, organized by the then Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Dr. João Sobrinho Teixeira, within the scope of the creation and launch of the LP Science program - International Center for Advanced Training in Fundamental Sciences for Scientists from Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP). Avid with technology like to learn new things, is always available, willing, and open to study and learn new skills. He is characterized by a high critical spirit, resilience, autonomy, teamwork, and good humor. As a man who doesn't just live by technology, he enjoys reading books and practicing physical exercises. His favorite quote is ¿WYSIWYG¿.
