Pedro Moutinho-Ribeiro is a Gastroenterologist and Senior Consultant in the Gastroenterology Department of Centro Hospitalar de São João, Porto, Portugal. His career as a gastroenterologist is focused on gastrointestinal oncology and advanced endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. He is a doctoral student at Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, developing research in the field of pancreatic cancer and precursor lesions, under the supervision of Prof. Guilherme Macedo and Prof. Sónia Melo. Moutinho-Ribeiro is also Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at Clínica Saúde Atlântica, Porto, and at BASE Holding Medical Group. He received 12 national awards, 4 of them as a medical student and 8 related to scientific activity in the field of Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and Hepatology. As an author and co-author, he was awarded 14 prizes in oral and poster presentations, as well as prizes for endoscopic iconography. Moutinho-Ribeiro was also awarded a research grant by Portuguese Society of Gastroenterology for the project “Contribution of endoscopy in the management of pancreatic cancer and its precursor lesions”. In 2019, he joined the Board of the Portuguese Society of Gastroenterology, as a member and chairman of the Editorial Committee, a position he will hold until the year 2021. Moutinho-Ribeiro is the author and co-author of 46 publications in the gastrointestinal area in international peer reviewed journals.
