Sara Diogo is an Assistant Professor of Social Sciences at the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences (DCSPT) at the University of Aveiro. She earned her PhD in Higher Education Studies in 2016 through a co-tutelle agreement between the University of Aveiro and the University of Jyväskylä, following participating in the Erasmus Mundus Master (HEEM) in Higher Education, which included study periods in Norway, Finland, Australia and Portugal. This international training shaped her focus on comparative higher education systems and policy, and laid the foundation for her active engagement in global research networks and policy-oriented work. Sara Diogo started lecturing at UA in 2015 (50% basis). Since then, until the present, she lectures several courses to the three cycles of studies of the DCSPT: to the Bachelor of Public Administration; to the Masters of Public Administration and Management; Political Science, and Master on Languages and Business Skills; and to the Doctoral Program on Public Policies. From June 2017 to February 2021, the candidate was granted a Post-Doc Fellowship in public policies from GOVCOPP - the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies, working in the Public Policies, Institutions and Innovation Research Group (PI2, http://www.ua.pt/govcopp/profile_209). Both teaching and research activities are enriched by her part-time work as a consultant for UNESCO, the Word Bank in the field of Higher Education Policy and Reform in Europe and Central Asia Region, and with her work with the Instituto Camões in the field of International Cooperation and Development ¿ Education for Development. Sara Diogo is a member of the International Committee of the Conference on Gender Research (ICGR), and since May 2019, a member of the Steering Committee of the Standing Group on Knowledge Politics and Policies of the ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research). Her research focuses on the study of public policies targeting higher education and science institutions, governance and management, scientific employment, and international cooperation, applying a gender lens. Among others, she has published in the European Journal of Cultural and Political Sociology, Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management; Higher Education Journal of Management & Governance, European Journal of Higher Education, Journal of International Women's Study; Higher Education Policy, etc. and book chapters in Springer, Palgrave, Emerald Editors, etc. Being an Erasmus Mundus Alumini on Higher Education Studies, and an international PhD candidate and researcher at the University of Jyväskylä, she sees herself as an outcome and a promoter of the internationalization of higher education and science, building this disciplinary field in a multidisciplinary way and through a growing and international network of scholars, students, researchers, policy actors and the civil society. Sara Diogo has also demonstrated management and leadership skills. She is the Science Communication Coordinator of the COST Action OPEN - Rising nationalisms, shifting geopolitics and the future of European higher education and research openness (CA22121), the coordinator of the commission for the monitoring of the school dropout and academic failure at the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences of the University of Aveiro, and the coordinator of the Committee for the Quality Management Analysis at this Department
