I am an accomplished, innovative and goal-oriented professional with a strong energetic and reliable work ethic. After a successful six-year career as a senior physiotherapist, followed by a fruitful five-year occupation as an orthopaedic surgical device sales consultant, I took the leap to back to university and pursue my calling in the field of marine biology. I am currently a research technician and prospective PhD candidate at the Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR) in Faro, having completed my master's degree in marine biology through IMBRSea, finishing magna cum laude, in the beginning of 2023. As such, I have accumulated a diverse number of complementary skills and achievements, with a focus on enhancing my molecular and laboratory skills. Through my current involvement in the INNATEMEM project, I have been able to engage in both my passion for human health, disease and food security as well as my love of marine biology, genomics and immunity, thus bringing together both my past and present careers. I am research-focused, driven and organsied and as a qualified English language teacher, I have strong communication skills and a great passion for education and teaching. Within my current employ I am contributing to the supervision of several undergraduate students for the final year projects. I have been recognised by my peers as an asset to any team I form part of. My work and life experience have highlighted for me just how precious our time is, and as such, I always endeavour to make the most of every opportunity that crosses my path.
