I am a PhD candidate in the Research Doctoral Program at Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon, affiliated with the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED) and supported by a Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) doctoral grant. My research explores the unseen dimensions of teaching and learning, emphasizing relational ontology and the lived experience of educators. Drawing on phenomenological and aesthetic methodologies, I investigate how education exists as both visible instruction and unseen ethical responsibility. Inspired by Sartre’s concept of being as presence and absence, Japanese aesthetics, and Impressionist artistic traditions, I position education as a transformative practice that embraces complexity, ambiguity, and fluidity. I undertook a six-month research period under the supervision of Professor Gert Biesta at the University of Edinburgh, which enriched my engagement with educational philosophy, subjectification, and the ethical dimensions of pedagogy. I hold a Master’s degree in Visual Arts Teaching (Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, 2015), a Postgraduate specialization in Special Education (Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, Universidade de Lisboa, 2019), and a Degree in Design (IADE, European University, 2001). Throughout my academic journey, I have participated in international programs such as Erasmus+ (Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Education, València, 2022), Millage Learning+ (Universidade do Algarve), and Training for Networked Digital Teaching (Lisbon Open University, 2021). I have also attended short courses focused on creativity, illustration, and drawing, further enriching my interdisciplinary approach to education. I have actively engaged in diverse international academic events, contributing to discussions on education, teacher agency, and pedagogical innovation in various scholarly settings. With a background in both education and design, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective to my work, bridging artistic practice, pedagogical theory, and digital innovation.
