Has a degree in Sports and Physical Activity, in the option of Basketball, from FCDEF, currently FADE of the University of Porto, his final degree thesis was in the area of Basketball with the theme "The Time-out and the Basketball Scorer". He completed his Master's Degree in High Performance Training at FADE of the University of Porto (UP), with a focuson the theme "Sources of knowledge and training conceptions of Expert Basketball Coaches". He holds a PhD in Didactics and School Organization from the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he prepared a thesis on "Professional Knowledge of the Physical Education Teacher: Types and Sources", in which one of the subchapters is dedicated to the "Didactics of Physical Education and School Sports". He began teaching in higher education in 2006 at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, teaching Basketball Didactics, and taught the same curricular unit at the Piaget Institute between 2007 and 2013. From 2017 to the present date he is teaching at the Sports course of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB) as an adjunct professor. He participated in the world's largest program in Basketball training, promoted by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Reliance Foundation, held in India between 2014 and 2016, entitled Jr.NBA India, which in the first 3 years reached 3 million young players. His duties were the state Human Resources directorate, providing training to teachers and respective didactic monitoring of 150 teachers in each state (Kerela and Marashtra), and annually organized, implemented and controlled the competitions. He was part of the under-23 talent selection program in India as a coach, and a player was identified as an invited member of the NBA team in the United States of America. He participates in several didactic basketball trainings of the Portuguese Basketball Federation and the National Association of Basketball Coaches as a trainer, in the training of coaches, on a regular basis since 2016. He also collaborates with the Portuguese Basketball Federation in the area of wheelchair basketball as a researcher, performing the analysis of the performance of the players of the main national team, which allows the preparation of reports and articles for the scientific community and coaches. It develops a training project between the IPCB and the Albicastrense Basketball Association (ABA), at the senior/university level, promoting the sports training of ABA athletes, IPCB students and coaches through training, clinics, games and international tournaments among other events. He began his coaching career in 1997 by participating in a social project to promote sports in the neighbourhood of São João de Deus – Porto (which has been demolished). In his path he went through the various levels of training until the seniors, being national champion as coach of União Desportiva Oliveirense in 2013.
