Carla Lima obtained his First Degree in Chemistry in 2020 and his Master’s Degree in chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) in 2022. During his Master's Thesis, he performed his work in the Medicinal Chemistry Group of FCUP, under the supervision of Doctor Sofia Benfeito, entitled “Development of new multitarget-directed ligands with potential application in Alzheimer’s disease”. After the MSc completion, Carla became a research fellow in the same group and his work focused on the development of bona fide targeted covalent inhibitors to unravel NOX2 (2022-2023). Later in 2023, she was awarded a PhD Research Scholarship from Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia and she’s currently a PhD student in chemistry under the supervision of Doctor Sofia Benfeito. Carla’s research interests include neurodegenerative disease, Targeted Drug Delivery, and Medicinal Chemistry.
