Daniela Ribeiro Pinheiro completed her graduation in Industrial Chemistry - Chemical Processes and Synthesis (pre-Bologna) in 2007 at the University of Coimbra. In 2009 she completed a Master Degree in Chemistry - Chemical Quality Control and Environment at the University of Coimbra. In 2010 she was awarder with a PhD grant supported by the Fundação para Ciência e Tecnhologia (SFRH/BD/74351/2010) to develop her PhD in Chemistry - Photochemistry specialization at the University of Coimbra. After being awarded with a PhD grant, the candidate interrupted her PhD, due a severe health problem. In 2016 she reinitiated her PhD at the University of Coimbra and in March 2021 she completed her PhD Degree with highest grade "Cum Lauda" Distinção e Louvor. After the PhD, D. Pinheiro was awarded with a prize "Projetos Sementes de Investigação Científica Interdisciplinar Santander UC" in the cluster climate, energy and mobility to develop her research work "Innovative Materials for Clean Energy Storage Systems (INOCleanMat)". Between March 2022 and June 2023 D. Pinheiro was a pos-doctoral researcher in the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in the projects OBTain - Objective Building Sustainability and SOLPOWINS - Solar-Powered Smart Windows for Sustainable Buildings. The main focus of her research activities involve innovative sustainable solutions for the capture and solar energy management of buildings with almost zero energy performance for future smart cities. D. Pinheiro was the principal investigator of the project INOCleanMat, participated in a total of 8 projects as researcher and published 16 articles in journals including Commun. Chem., Chem. Sci., NMR Biomed., Phys Chem Chem Phys, Dyes Pigments, J. Phys. Chem. B and Photochem. Photobiol. Sci.. Participated in 48 events (national and international scientific meetings, workshops and training schools), presented 14 poster communications and 7 oral presentations. D. Pinheiro also participated in the organization of national (XXIV IUPAC Symposium On Photochemistry, Coimbra, Portugal) and international (II International Congress on Analytical Proteomics - ICAP, Ourense, Spain) scientific events and outreach activities (Pint of Science Festival 2025). Currently, D. Pinheiro is a guest teaching assistant and postdoctoral researcher in BRIDGES - Biotechnology Research, Innovation and Design for Health Products - at Guarda Polytechnic (IPG) in the WASTESILK project, exploring the reuse of sericin from industrial wastewater for biomedical applications.
