Prof. Miguel Luís received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, in 2009 and 2015, respectively. In February of 2017 he joined the Network Architectures and Protocols (NAP) research group of Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT). From 2018 up to January 2020, Prof. Miguel Luís was a teaching assistant at University of Aveiro. In January of 2020 Prof. Miguel Luís joined the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL), as an Adjunct Professor. During his stay in ISEL, Prof. Miguel Luís was the teacher in charge of several courses related to computer networks, teaching courses such as Introduction to Computer Networks, Advanced Networks, Internet Networks and Project in Computer Networks. He was also a member of the coordinating committee of the B.Sc. in Informatics Networks and Telecommunications Engineering and the coordinator of the Computer Networks disciplinary group of the Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Finally, in September of 2023 Prof. Miguel Luís joined the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) of Lisbon University (UL). Prof. Miguel Luís has coordinated two research projects nationally funded by the Portuguese science foundation, the InfoCent-IoT started in 2018, and the MH-SDVanet started in 2021, in collaboration with researchers from other national universities. He has been an active research member of international research projects in competitive calls, such as FCT-MIT and FCT-CMU programs, EU Urban Innovative Actions program, H2020 call, Celtic-NEXT program, and recently in the EU Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS-JU) call and the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) Agendas. In total, Prof. Miguel Luís has participated in more than 20 research projects. Prof. Miguel Luís has a solid list of publications, with more than 100 publications in journals of top quartiles and conference proceedings. He has also contributed to two submitted patents, and he has been awarded with several prizes and distinctions such as the Diploma of Merit, Prémios Científicos IPL-CGD 2023, for the scientific work carried out in the triennium 2020-2022 in the areas of Technologies and Engineering, and the UA Cooperation Award 2022 and the Medal of Merit of the City of Aveiro as part of the team that contributed to the implementation of the Aveiro Tech City Living Lab, to name a few.
