Ricardo S. Barros - Investigador e Engenheiro Civil com atividade nas áreas de avaliação de danos no património construído, avaliação do comportamento material e estrutural de construções em alvenaria e reforço estrutural. Licenciado em Engenharia Civil pela Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Fernando Pessoa e Mestre em Melhoramento sísmico, restauro e consolidação de construções históricas e monumentais pela Universidade de Perugia. Doutorado em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade do Minho com a tese “Avaliação do comportamento material e estrutural de construções em xisto”. Realizou pós-doutoramento no âmbito do projeto SEISMIC V (Cultura Sísmica Local em Portugal). Desenvolveu investigação na área da alvenaria estrutural na unidade de investigação ISISE (Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering) na Universidade do Minho e na unidade de investigação RISCO (Research Center for Risks and Stainability in Construction) na Universidade de Aveiro. Trabalhou como docente na Universidade Fernando Pessoa onde lecionou as disciplinas de materiais de construção e estruturas. É autor de diversos livros, capítulos de livros e artigos em revistas científicas e congressos nacionais e internacionais. É revisor científico nas áreas de construções em alvenaria de diversas revistas internacionais, nomeadamente o Journal of Architectural Engineering da American Society of Civil Engineers e Journal Engineering Structures da Elsevier. Atualmente desenvolve atividade profissional no Instituto da Construção da FEUP, na área de inspeção e avaliação de danos no património contruído. Possui cerca de 15 anos de experiência técnico-científica relevante.
