Roberto Aguado (nome completo: Roberto Juan Aguado Garcia) concluiu o doutoramento na linha de Tecnologia Química em 2018/02/26, pela "Universidad Pablo de Olavide" (Sevilha, Espanha), e sob a orientação da professora Moral e o professor A. Tijero. Foi membro da equipa de investigação do projeto FIBRALT liderada pelo Prof. Dr. J.F. Tijero. Recebeu o Prémio Extraordinário de Doutoramento. Foi bolseiro de pós-doutoramento na "Universidade de Coimbra" de 2018 até 2021, no âmbito do projeto INPACTUS ("Produtos e Tecnologias Inovadoras a partir do Eucalipto"), sob a orientação do professor Valente e a professora Murtinho, e com a coordenação do Prof. Ferreira. Atualmente, é professor no grau em Engenharia Química da "Universitat de Girona" (Girona, Espanha), incluindo disciplinas tais como Tecnologia Ambiental, Química Verde, Processos Industriais Sustentáveis e Fundamentos de Química. Publicou 28 artigos em revistas especializadas (indexadas no JCR), incluindo "Carbohydrate Polymers" e "ACS Materials & Interfaces", as quais possuem un índice de impacto maior que 9. É também autor ou co-aoutor de 2 capítulos de livro, 4 pedidos de patente, mais de 30 contribuições a congressos científicos, 4 publicações de inovação no ensino superior, 3 publicações em revistas não indexadas no JCR e o blog de divulgação "Herencia Sostenible". Desde 2014, recebeu um total de 10 bolsas e ajudas em regime de concorrência competitiva para estágios, projetos de investigação e incorporação ao sistema universitário. Aguado atua nas de: Engenharia Química, principalmente em processos que utilizam biomassa vegetal como matéria-prima; Ciência e Engenharia de Polímeros, com ênfase em polissacarídeos e outros hidroxipolímeros. Atualmente, é membro da equipa LEPAMAP-PRODIS e participa no projeto CONFUTUR ("Desarrollo del conocimiento para el futuro uso de nanocelulosas en una industria papelera sostenible y competitiva en España").
