Joana Lage obtained a degree in Environmental Health, from Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa, at Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, in 2010, a Master degree in Environmental Engineering, from Faculdade de Engenharia, at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias de Lisboa, in 2023, and a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences, at Delft University of Technology, in 2016. At the moment, J. Lage is a junior researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, acquiring this contract through the international contest promoted by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in the 3rd call of the Scientific Employment Stimulus. J. Lage is developing her research work at C2TN - Nuclear Science and Technology Center, of Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. Her PhD Thesis (2016) was entitled Environmental Impact of Steelworks's emissions: an integrated approach, where biomonitoring and instrumental approaches were extensively worked on. Since her PhD, J. Lage participated in a total of 53 training courses, 30 in her scientific areas of interest and expertise, and 19 in teaching area; did 53 oral presentations (16 by invitation, 17 as presenter), did 13 posters communications (6 as presenter), participated in 17 events without communication, and did more than 10 oral scientific communications for the general public. J. Lage was a session chairman in an international conference, and participated as member of the scientific committee of other 3 events. She made scientific visits to research centers and European universities to improve her skills and knowledge. J. Lage published 8 abstracts in conference proceedings, 3 articles in conference's books, 1 book chapter, and 12 articles in international journals plus 1 which is submitted. She has 3 books with ISBN and participated in the organization of 8 international scientific conferences and/or international workshops. J. Lage is an invited reviewer in 7 international scientific journals. She actively participated in the submission of 12 national and international projects which were funded, and in the conception and submission of 17 national and international projects/cost actions not funded. Her scientific work was internationally recognized with the attribution of 8 awards (1 best oral presentation in an international conference). In the last 5 years, J. Lage developed activities as communication manager of European projects, where, within with the Interreg Sudoe ClimACT , this won several European recognitions. Since February 2016, J. Lage has developed teaching activities. She's an assistant teacher at Engineering Faculty-Universidade Lusófona, lecturing in Environmental Engineering BSc and MSc degrees: Air Pollution, Air Quality Monitoring and Control, Modelling and Analysis of Environmental Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Noise Pollution. In 2018/2019 academic year she was invited to teach in Environmental Health Degree, ESTeSL. J. Lage was a member of the jury of 1 MSc dissertation defense (2016), and participated as a jury in research contests for PhD fellowship and research initiation fellowships (2022). She gave technical support to more than 9 students from BSc and MSc in her research group, and scientific orientation at 5 MSc students of Environmental Engineering (2 concluded in 2021, 3 on going) and 4 BSc Student of Environmental Health and electrical engineering.
