Graduated in Geoinformation and Geomatics Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, I conducted a European Master in Territorial Planning and Environmental Management at the University of Barcelona. Then, I was granted a European Scholarship to carry out the Erasmus Mundus Master in Geospatial Technologies operating between Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (Portugal), Universitat Jaume I (Spain), and University of Muenster (Germany). Finally, I won a Marie Sklodowska-Curie scholarship (H2020 project - GEO-C: enabling open cities) to pursue a European Joint Doctorate (awarded with "cum laude") held between Portugal, Spain, and Germany. During my PhD (3 years), I conceptualized an innovative (spatial) framework to evaluate the crucial spatial connection between social and psychological concepts to explain civic engagement. Moreover, I organized a workshop at the CISTI (2017) international conference and did a one- month internship with the Lisbon City council. After the PhD, I did a one-year postdoc in the Geography and Environmental Management Department at the University of Waterloo (Canada). I worked on my PhD's main lines, adding new perspectives and extending my academic connections in North America. I have also taken training courses on innovative research on social network data collection and processing; and teaching resources at the centre for teaching excellence (Waterloo University, Canada). I am currently a postdoc fellow at Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI/LARSyS – IST-Universidade de Lisboa). I am adding to my expertise knowledge on promoting social cohesion through storytelling and analysing human-computer interaction processes using mapping and spatio-temporal elements within software applications. I am also a researcher in the MEMEX project (H2020- SC6-TRANSFORMATIONS-2019) in which I am in charge of part of the technical aspect of the project, having to mentor and guide three research assistants. 1. Academic contributions: Publications. Total number of refereed journal papers: 7 (5 first author – all in English) Journal papers in SCIMAGO (SJR): 3 Q1, 3 Q2 Journal papers in WOS: 2 Q2, 1 Q3, 1 Q4 Conference papers in international venues: 2 (all first author) Book chapter: 1 (in press) 2. Participation in international activity Conferences. I have given 10 conference presentations from which 9 were international venues and one of them by invitation. Projects. I have participated in 3 international projects. • I have been part of a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, International Training Networks (GEO-C - Universidade NOVA de Lisboa - University of Muenster - Universitat Jaume I) as an Early-Stage Researcher. • I was selected to conduct a one-year postdoc in Canada within a project funded by the Ontario governmental province. • Currently, I am part of an H2020 project (MEMEX) within SC6-TRANSFORMATIONS-2019 call programs as a postdoc. Research internships. In 2016, I carried out an external six-month semester at Universitat Jaume I, where I developed an innovative technological open-source tool funded and advertised by the European Commission as part of the GEO-C Open City Toolkit. Internationalization. I am an integrated Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI) member and member of LXnights research group both in Portugal. 3. Other contributions: Teaching. Teaching collaborations in Geographic Information System courses within the Master of Environmental Studies at Waterloo University (Canada) and Erasmus Mundus Geospatial Technologies at NOVA IMS University (Portugal). Supervision. I supervised and international Master Erasmus Mundus student at NOVA IMS University (Portugal). Currently, supervising one more master thesis at NOVA IMS University. Funding received. 2 competitive scholarships. 1) Erasmus Mundus Scholarship (14000€) for a European master. (1.5 years) 2) Marie Sklodowska-Curie scholarship (90000€) to conduct the European Joint Doctorate Degree (3 years).
