Bruno André Faria Areias completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, in 2021, after earning his Master's degree in the same area from the same institution in 2014. Currently, he holds positions as an invited Assistant Professor at the University of Porto and a contracted researcher at the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. He developed industrial skills at WEG company in Maia between 2020 and 2021, where he held the position of mechanical consultant. With regarding to academic record, he has authored 15 articles in international journals and contributed to 5 sections of books. Additionally, he organized the event “Participation as chair of the 4th Doctoral Congress Engineering (DCE21)” at FEUP, and has been the recipient of 2 awards/honors (“Pedagogical Recognition Award” and “Merit-based scholarship”). Engaged in research, he was awarded a PhD studentship financed by FCT in the project entitled “Numerical modeling of the human cochlea and associated pathologies”. Bruno Areias expertise spans across engineering and technology, with a focus on mechanical engineering, as well as medical and health sciences, particularly in biomechanics. Within INEGI, he supervises the biomechanics laboratory, where he plays a central role in managing all equipment and consumables. This responsibility involves overseeing the proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory instruments, as well as managing the procurement and utilization of necessary supplies.
