Completed the PhD in Biosciences in 2012 at the University of Coimbra. Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Life Sciences (University of Coimbra). Worked as Laboratory Scientist in a portuguese drug development/biotech company, Exogenus Therapeutics (Biocant Park, Cantanhede), between 2016-2018. Currently hired as PhD Researcher at CNC - Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra, working in the Neuronal Signaling group. Published a total of 33 journal articles in international peer-reviewed journals (including seven as 1st author and one as last author) and 3 book chapters (one as 1st author), reaching an H-index of 20 with 8600+ total citations (Scopus and Web of Science). Among these are 2 highly cited papers (top 1% in the academic field).
